The 9/11 Heroes Run is a 5K in honor of all those lost on 9/11, their families, and those that continue to put their lives on the line everyday (military, police, fire, ems, etc.). The 9/11 Heroes Run was held in 41 cities nationwide as well as overseas last year and we are so excited to bring it back to Charleston again on Saturday, September 7th! The run is hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, founded by the family of Travis Manion, a marine that was killed in his second tour of duty in Iraq in 2007. In addition to supporting the Travis Manion Foundation, 50% of race proceeds are distributed back to the communities in which these runs are held. We are proud to announce that our Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run donated almost $6,000 to several local emergency responder charities and organizations last year, including Charleston Fire Department, Charleston Nine Memorial Fund, Gifting Warriors and the Distressed Officers Fund. We are honored to be able to give back to these men and women that have sacrificed and continue to do so.
